AZTEX stands for A to Z of Theatrical Excellence. We offer weekly classes in dance, drama, media, voice training and performance for students ages 3 to 18. Our classes are designed to serve those who wish to take the first steps on the road toward a career in the theatre and television industry, improve skills already learned, or who simply want to have fun, communicate and gain a higher level of confidence.
Our classes are a balance between having fun and enjoying performing, yet developing the kind of discipline needed for rehearsals and stage work. Rather than just staging productions where cast learn specific scenes, songs and dance routines, we want our students to develop all round skills which will take them from one production to another and from being a hobby to further training and professional employment.
Each day will consist of five sessions covering drama techniques, voice training, dance movement, media and performance skills. We strive to develop basic theatre and media skills leading to a more professional level of performance whether this is on stage or in front of a camera. We will produce events which demonstrate and celebrate the creative abilities of all those taking part.
Places at the school are strictly limited to ensure adequate individual attention. We also offer additional vocal and LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) classes. Details of these extra classes are available if required.
We are based at Highfield Humanities College, Highfield Road, Blackpool. This facility gives us the opportunity to work on a full stage and in their drama studio. In addition we have full use of the audio visual equipment including digital capture and replay to ensure students understand the techniques being taught and where improvements can be made. Students also benefit from regular stage performances.
