Aztex offer LAMDA classes for students aged 3 to 18 years. LAMDA stands for the ‘London Academy of Dramatic Art’ and has been offering speech exams since 1880. Here at Aztex we offer the LAMDA examinations in ‘Acting’ and ‘Musical Theatre.’ These exams have a reputation for excellence across the globe and are designed to equip learners, whatever their age or aspirations, with a range of skills that will serve them throughout life.
When preparing for a LAMDA exam, pupils will develop communication skills, create and develop a range of different characters, foster an appreciation for reading plays and literature, learn technical theatre terms, study breathing and how to use the voice correctly, and unleash their potential.
Here at Aztex we offer the LAMDA examination in a small group format; with a maximum of 5 pupils per class. This system encourages pupils to support each other, learn from one and other, share their work, build up self esteem, unlock creative thinking, and promote team work, whilst benefitting from personal one to one tuition and guidance. Pupils are expected to take charge of their learning and practice outside of class.
We have a 100% pass rate in LAMDA examinations at Aztex and are very proud of all of our LAMDA students-they improve with each exam and often surpass expectations. The majority of pupils gain top marks which are measured against an international standard. Pupils gain certificates and medals which can also be used to aid access to University. Grades 6-8 carry UCAS points which can be added to college grades and could be the difference in getting a place at University.
